Econet LEO

Econet Leo, the Burundian mobile venture owned by Econet Wireless International (EWI). Econet Leo, formerly known as Spacetel Burundi, is the largest mobile carrier operating in Burundi. The company is a fully owned subsidiary of Econet Mobile Networks Group after purchase from Global Telecom Holding in October 2014. Econet Mobile Networks Group itself is a subsidiary of global telecoms giant Econet Global Limited, with operations centred on Africa and with presence in Europe and the Middle East.

The company operates standard 2G GSM services over 900 and 1800 MHz, and launched 3G UMTS services in July 2011. In March 2017 Econet Leo switched on 4G LTE over the B3 (1800 MHz) band initially in the capital Bujumbura and gradually being rolled out across the nation. For further information, visit link:
